What chic find is Marion wearing?

http://en.vogue.fr/fashion/fashion-news/articles/the-vogue-fashion-night-out-2012/14116 We love Marion and her chic Parisian style dressing. She manages to have that thrown together look with a t-shirt and shorts but her accessories are classic and sexy. She cant help but remind me of the beautiful Jane Birkin.

Beautiful sexy legs are very in fashion. The sandal is so feminine this season it is barely there but just enough to be a foots best friend. Marion is wearing t-shirt called “Dryclean only” from Bangkok, denim shorts from H&M. Strappy sandals by Barbara Bui and handbag is by Christian Dior. Her sunglases are from a market in Seol.

Visit Shoerazzi for a bit of a guide on the latest Spring/Summer 12 styles. I think it has to be said that you cant get much sexier than a quality strappy sandal. Let me emphasis though that quality is the word here. No point buying the look at under $100. Give this shoe a good part of your budget as it will take you far and you will be able to match it up with all the less expensive looks of  Zara, H&M and all the high street fashion brands. shttp://shoerazzi.com/

Get the strappy sandal look

Shop the look; Bassike do fantastic simple t-shirts in all colours so the top look is an easy chic find. However this season Bassike have more on offer with this Parisian style tunic available in cord; available at MyCatwalk; http://www.mycatwalk.com.au/stretch-cord-tunic-dress.html

or this tunic from Clements Ribeiro which we found at Shop Ghost which is a very retro style magazine directory for the best finds instore http://shopghost.com/shop-ghosts/the-get-packing/clements-ribeiro-printed-silk-dress/ They directed us to Net A Porter

Shop for shorts at Shopbop; http://www.shopbop.com/actions/viewSearchResultsAction.action?query=denim+shorts&searchSuggestion=false&searchButton.x=0&searchButton.y=0

Beautiful things, fashion, Photography

Can’t be denied what ever is French is so seemingly Chic! Even Cannes. Not my favorite city but it does hold one of the most glamourous events each year and it has such a fascinating history. Here are some great shots from the last days.

No other than Sean Penn. Fantastic shot!

Vladamir Restoin Roitfeld and Giovanna Battaglia… looks like it could be the 1960’s.

Diane Krugar and Joshua Jackson. She is wearing the most amazing dress from Nina Ricci and Prada shoes. Every out fit of late has been a sensation.

Beautiful Maya is a mother of two and she loves fashion, quality and that something different!

Kitty Cat wants a treat

Beautiful things, Beauty, fashion

Feeling like treating yourself? Mavala has these gorgeous mini nail lacquers that don’t cost much and yet are spurts of luxurious color that make you feel as good as buying a whole new outfit. The spring colors are gorgeous; Blue Curacao, Touch of Provence, Waikiki Orange and many more. Fantastic greens, navy, the color palette is extensive….

You can find Mavala at most pharmacies and chemists all around the world. The quality is also very good and you don’t have to be in a hurry to consume it or find a way to store it as it’s little so it’s a little short hit wonder. Another perfect treat is a pair of sunglasses! At the moment there are some great new designs coming out and one of the strongest theme’s is the cat eye. Yves Saint Laurent have done a beautiful cat eye in black and tortoiseshell and Prada’s new shape in two tone are so iconic of the fashion at the moment that they could be a perfect treat if that’s the only one thing you splurge on this season.  To see a mix of this season’s fashion this is a great blog; http://elodiebubble.wordpress.comAnother wonderful treat is new lingerie. So feminine, and it is all about nurturing you at the end of the day! One of Chicfinds favorite  staples of lingerie is La Perla which is Italian and Italian made but it is ‘very’expensive but it is a governess for the styles and quality. Other great brands are Chantelle from France, Cosabella and for a cute but cheaper option; Intimissimi from Italy, Victoria Secret is an obvious one but still worth it for it’s great prices and it does master the push up bra. If you love lingerie and you are a fan of French chic you will have to take a look at  Kiki Monparnasse by Julia Restoin Roitfeld. Wolford and Skin offer a simple and minimalistic style with beautiful quality. Take a look at Barney’s New York offer online; http://www.barneys.com/Lingerie/LINGERIE01,default,sc.htmlThe right lingerie can also be worn as clothing, under a jacket it can act as a camisole and look so sexy yet modest as its half hidden away. A great eyeliner is also a little treat that will last forever, be easy to sharpen and it will create for you the look of this season with the cat eye fascination. Tip, watch a you tube for how too… For all the best brands go to http://www.strawberrynet.com XMeow meow XXX

Chicfinds Handbag Rental

I think in these times it is important to watch what you are consuming and that of course includes fashion items. It is not always necessary to buy something new for an occasion even though it does feel nice to have something different. To make up for that there are a few web businesses that are renting designer products. So far they are still in their early stages but the idea is fantastic. You can rent a designer bag, dress and accessories for a weekly or monthly rent and at the end you hand it back and you have not spent a fortune on something you wont wear again or you didn’t need in the first place. After looking around the best one (and there is room for improvement as the selection is not huge but they do seem to have the best product) is Mila & Eddi; another one that is quite good but not yet a chic find level but worth supporting is Love me and Leave me.

Save your earnings for a rainy day and dress up for a little off the retail price!

Recycled fashion

Photography Terry Richardson for Vogue Paris

I am not obsessed with brands and am not keen at all on clothing that has logos all over it however I have to say that there is nothing like the quality of high end brands. They last forever in terms of quality and form if you buy them correctly. The best way to buy them is to go for the more classic pieces. You can be wearing Zara or any of the fast fashion brands and if you mix it with a pair of shoes, a bag, jacket or trouser from one of the luxury brands it will look a lot more chic! If your like me you don’t have a fortune to spend on clothes so you have to be clever and have some fun in the recylcled fashion stores of the world! The best one in Sydney is Di Nuovo in Paddington. They always have a fantastic selection of shoes and bags as well as great fashion clothing pieces. You can find a fantastic branded jacket for a tenth of the price and they are all in really good condition. It has brands from Chanel to Zimmerman. Check out their blog; http://dinuovo.tumblr.com/

If your in Milan you should visit Salvagente which is not recycled but it is the left over stock of the season. You can find every high end luxury brand there; Lanvin, Chloe, Balenciaga, Dolce & Gabbana and so on. They have three floors!! It is an absolute must to visit. They are in Via Fratelli Bronzetti 16, take a look at their web site for opening hours; http://www.salvagentemilano.it/

Photography by Terry Richardson for Vogue

In Hong Kong one of the best to visit is Button Hole in Soho, 58-60B Peel Street, Tel 28992069. In Paris I go regularly to Coiffeur Vintage, Rue de Rosiers 32 (vintage is a post to come!) but for luxury high end brands you need to go outside Paris to La Vallee Village in Marnes la Vallee. If you are in Switzerland you must go to Foxtown which is in Mendrisio (Switzerland) just over the boarder from Italy (great if you want to visit Lago di Como on the way). It is amazing! All the brands have their own stores and the prices are incredible. For information visit the web site; http://www.foxtown.ch
